Total Productive Maintenance

Synthite is dedictaed to goodness, freshness and all things pure and natural. We work only with fresh extracts, fresh flavours, and yes, fresh technology. (That's the way we like to talk about state-of-the-art.) To compete in today’s global scenario we recognised the need to quickly adopt and leverage the latest technology available in the market.

In turn we ensure that our employees upgrade their skill sets. This means putting in place new measures of productivity with every new wave that hits the industry. With so much happening at Synthite, we recognised loopholes that we could fall through. Loopholes like wastage of time, idle machines, idle manpower and energy losses that could impact our overall process effectiveness. We found a solution in the revolutionary concept of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).

Dr. W. Edward Demming, an American statistician and consultant worked with Japanese companies to develop quality control concepts in manufacturing called Total Quality Management. From this evolved the Total Productive Maintenance programme that focuses on maintenance of plants and equipment. Synthite kicked off the TPM initiative on the 5th of February 2013 and since then it helped us maximise productivity by enhancing equipment efficiency, analyzing availability, performance and recognizing areas of improvement.

We realise that despite the huge improvements made, there is always scope to be better. The prestigious JIPM Award is just another milestone we hope to conquer by 2016 on this journey to better productivity.
